Here are some links to people and groups I’m involved with or
just really like a lot…

This is the band I’ve been with since 1999. We play what we call “urban bluegrass”. Check out the site and you might find out what that means.

Ne(x)tworks is a group of performing composers that my good friend and fellow Flux alum Cornelius Dufallo started. We specialize in music involving improvisation, graphic scores, and other techniques that are associated with the music of the New York School. A lot of it we write ourselves, including my chamber opera “Confessions of the Woman in the Dunes”.

In addition to being a fantastic, award-winning pianist in her own right, Monica performs duo recitals with me, usually with a healthy dose of my own viola/piano music. She’s also the girl I’m going to marry!

I’ve been performing with the CCP up in northern Vermont since 1996,

I’ve been involved with the MSO as a composer-in-residence for the better part of three years. They’re one of the feel-good, success stories in the sometimes bleak American orchestral landscape, and do very innovative, exciting projects under the baton of maestro Scott Speck.

The Ahns are dear friends from Juilliard days who continue to rock the classical world with their unique groundbreaking aesthetic. They play several of my works for piano trios, and you can probably find out when and where.

Speaking of rocking the classical world, the Imani Winds are not to be missed. Check out their schedule, and they might play my work
Shout Chorus,” which I wrote for them.

The HSQ commissioned and premiered my quintet String Circle with yours truly playing the extra viola part. An excellent quartet and just great folks, take a look at what they’re up to.

Interested in old-time instrumental folk music but don’t know where to start? Every note this guy sings and plays is soulful and quietly beautiful .

Sometimes I get to sit in with these guys. They play great blue and newgrass and do a terrific show for kids.

Erica accomplished the nearly insurmountable task of making me look kind of cool in all my photos. An extremely talented young photographer, she also does weddings and mitzvahs.
